Dublin City Council (DCC) is the democratic body governing Dublin City. It is the largest Local Authority in the country with a staff of 6,200 approximately and it provides a wide range of services for its citizens and businesses.

Dublin City covers an area of 11,496 hectares and has a current population of 495,781.

Dublin City Council is the municipal authority with responsibility for the coordination of the flood risk management strategy for the entire Dublin region and is responsible for the delivery of the fire and rescue services to the region's population.
